Enjoying Life in North Miami Beach

Miami has a lot to offer, specially when you are like me: Someone who came here first as a tourist and now is residing officially. Nowadays I find myself talking about North Miami Beach to anyone who cares to listen, and sometimes, even when they seem to dismiss my presence. Why do I do this? Because I want you to fall in love with this place, like I did.

I’ve heard in the past that everything related to Miami has something to do with Spring Break and old retiring people. And while that might be what some people actually do here,but it’s not all, there is a lot more to North Miami Beach. For starters, you’d find yourself immersed in the vibrant lifestyle. And I have to tell you that if by any chance my grandmother decided to move here, she’d have to step up her game and buy a fancy scooter! The city offers lots of options for the ones who can’t stay just in one place (Like me!), that need to be running around, exploring and delighting in all the things this city has to offer.

Because when you are a newcomer like me, the place baffles you and the need to know everything is just huge. You are taken surprised by its vibe, the place is just bright and sunny, with the beach only a jump away. Also, the nightlife is great and there's no excuse to stay home and do nothing. There’s so much to discover! You need to move! If you are a tourist you can enjoy it as I can do it residing here. I’ve been spending my free days sight-seeing places as the Spanish Monastery, taking tours and lessons on Paddle Board and pampering myself from time to time at some Spa. Those are things that you can plan ahead when you plan on being a tourist for a few days, but after you visit, I guarantee you that you’d be booking your next trip here even before you leave.

However, the one thing that I’m in love with... FOOD: North Miami Beach has a wide range of choices for me to take. During my first days I refused to eat other than the usual, but I was living in a new place and I thought: I'm in a beautiful city, why should I refrain from eating great food? So I started exploring restaurants. There are many options out there, and while I like most of the places I've visited, for now I have a favorite: RG Cocina Mexicana. They offer great Mexican food with the added bonus of actually being a jump away from the beach! Their menu is modern twist on classic Mexican dishes and the cocktails make you say “Oh-my-god”. They are so refreshing! If there’s one thing you want to remember about your trip, it’s the food. At least, that’s what I want to remember the most, and I wholeheartedly recommend them to you!
