Copa America Centenario at RG Cocina Mexicana
Today my friends and I are in the sport mood, so we’re going to look a ton of soccer! In case you are wondering, we’re going to watch the Copa America Centenario games. We’re all Latin that have our respective team t-shirts and although we might not get along when it gets down to sports, we’re as united as one could be with another. We’ve been working for the same aeronautical company for about 3 years, and our boss made us work as a team since day one. He told me when I started working for them that I must see my coworkers as my family because we all bring our best at our respective fields in our countries, and we must see each other as equals even when our jobs are different.
They became my friends, and as the trust built up, we started pranking and annoying each other in a good way. But, there are some things that we do not joke about: Family, food, and sports. Our families are sacred, there are no “Yo’ mamma” jokes when we’re together, we never touch each other’s meals and above all, we do not mess with our country’s team. That’s the reason why we were having dinner at RG Cocina Mexicana, to fill our stomachs before the impending drama at the match tonight.
While we were sitting down eating, I decided to ask the waitress if she was going to be cheering a team in particular. She grinned at us and replied that the whole staff were into sports, that the restaurant was eager to see the development of the Copa America Centenario. Cesar, who is Venezuelan, asked her which one was her favorite team. She told him that it was a secret and turned around. We’ve been visiting RG Cocina Mexicana for a while, and we know most of the staff. Our boss insisted that we visited this restaurant because he loved it. We decided to listen to him, so we came to the restaurant and we loved the food. That’s the reason why we know most of the staff members, so when I glanced at the owner, George Rodriguez, I called him out. When I asked the same question to him, he told me that although he has a preferred team, they were all very excited about the competition, and that by all means, we should join them for the celebration. I can assure you we will be putting on our team t-shirts, sitting down with great food at the restaurant, and doing just that!
